FAQ’s

Do I Need A Referral?

Yes. A referral from a general practitioner is required. These referrals generally are valid for twelve months unless the general practitioner has endorsed the referral indefinite. The referral enables you to claim a higher rebate from Medicare. A new referral is required if you are seeing Dr Lawrence for a new problem or a new pregnancy. Referrals from medical specialists are valid for three months only.

At twelve weeks of pregnancy an ultrasound is organized for nuchal translucency screen. This is correlated with the maternal serum-screening test to give a risk ratio for chromosomal abnormality.

At twenty-eight weeks you will be tested for gestational diabetes (please allow two hour) and have your iron levels rechecked.

A vaginal swab is taken to exclude Group B Streptococcal infection.
